The bright weather that we had during the early lockdown period made me notice how the sunlight created such sharp and dramatic shadows across my paintings; I really liked it. There was something about it that reminded me of the chiaroscuro effects of Baroque art which been informing my work. As a result of this I have started to experiment with some new ideas relating to light on paintings. This has started a new direction for my work.
