'WIP', 2020- pre-lockdown.png

‘WIP’, 2020 was a large scale painting in progress that was made directly onto the studio wall prior to the lockdown as I was exploring themes associated with the notion of the ‘rock’ as  a material that represented a metaphor for cultural history. However, immediately after the lockdown was put in place, all my materials (and thought processes!) were left in the studio as unfinished pieces.

After a 2-week gap of not being able to produce work (due to space restrictions in my room) I began experimenting with digital software such as InDesign and Photoshop in order to ‘complete’ the unfinished painting that was left in the studio (‘Digital Materiality’, 2020). Since then, I have shifted my ways of working through a digital approach where most of my work acts as proposals for physical pieces that could be hopefully be completed one day.

I am extremely passionate about my work and although the initial 2 weeks were tough, I did not let that obstruct my path and found a way around the situation (just like the rest of the group)!
